I'm not sure where this epiphany came from. Maybe it was from watching Shut Up and Sing last night. As I watched The Dixie Chicks struggle to reinvent themselves and to capture a new market of fans, I realized I had a lot in common with them these days. This morning, I looked at my blog with new eyes and decided it is time to reinvent this blog!
My first question was, what makes a good blog? It's not banner ads and links to deals. It's the content. You guys want to know why I think you should buy something. You want to know why you NEED that $1.99 toy for your kids. People read blogs for information and entertainment, not to look at ads or to be screeched at. When I originally bought the domain and signed up for Typepad, I really wasn't sure what I was going to do. I knew that I wanted the domains and I wanted to blog, but I love to write and originally, I thought my blog might just be a place for me to let things out in private or to just a few friends. I realized after a few weeks that wasn't really me. I love the thrill of a good deal. I couldn't stop that. After all, I am the original Bargainhntngmom, right? I couldn't ever let that go!
The blog might be changing some, but don't worry. I'm still going to post deals. It's just going to be intermixed with something entertaining to read. You might find out more about me than you care to know. I guarantee that you'll learn all about my family, my life, my love of Vanilla Bean Noel, Madonna and The Dixie Chicks. You'll hear about my friends(with their permission of course) and all the things that I love and probably about things I don't like as well.
