Maybe you noticed I wasn't around this weekend. I wasn't. You probably thought I was off doing something fun with my family, right? I'm sure that's probably what I should have been doing.
Instead, I locked myself in my bedroom and from Saturday through today, I've watched the first 14 episodes of Nashville. The music, the drama, the stories and those cute little girls who play Rayna's daughters sucked me right in.
Way back last fall, my friend Anne, was on the Nashville Bandwagon and she was trying to make me get on it with her. I resisted. I was totally convinced this show wasn't going to last. I knew that if I invested myself in it, it would get cancelled as that's the way things seem to be going for me lately! (Smash comes to mind instantly!) Instead, I decided to DVR it just in case and see how things went.
Back in the spring, Nashville went on hiatus for a month or so and I thought I'd try to catch up, but when I looked at the DVR, I realized there was a LOT of episodes for me to try to catch up on and I'd never make it. Instead, I kept up the DVR'ing, so I thought. Anne continued to talk Nashville up to me and I kept right on resisting.
Then, the other day, I found myself a little bored and decided to turn on the first episode. Oh EM GEE! Why didn't anyone tell me how great this show was? (Yes, Anne, I know you did!) I was hooked and here I am days later still trying to catch up. I've only stopped to write this post and shower.
The problem is, someone STOPPED my recording on the DVR because apparently they thought I was "never going to watch that show." When I got to the end of my DVR'ed shows, I checked On Demand. Surely I'd find them there, right? Oh no! There were only the last 5 shows there! That meant I was missing FOUR episodes. I ran as fast as I could to ABC.com on my iPad and discovered they had the same 5 shows there!
Totally panicked, because I can't stand the thought of not knowing what happens next to Rayna, Juliette, Scarlet and all the rest including those adorable Stella sisters who play Rayna's daughters, I high-tailed to to Amazon. Luckily for me, they have the whole season to watch. Yes, I'll have to pay $1.99 an episode, but darn it, I'll be caught up! There are very few TV shows I'd pay to watch. Nashville is one of them!
I'm off to hopefully watch a few more episodes before sleep catches up with me. In the meantime, watch this video of the talented Stella Sisters! They'll suck you right in. (Let me know when you're through watching all their Youtube videos. ;))

For some of you who don't know me, one of the not-so-secret things about me is that I was a huge fan of daytime TV. Yes, those shows otherwise known as "soap operas." I grew up watching many of them with my mom and I kept it up. I even worked on an online forum doing recaps for a few years and made some great friends in the process.
All of my shows are off the air, but I've been counting down the days to today and now I'm SO excited! Today, April 29, is the day that both All My Children and One Life to Live make their return debuts on Hulu! I was a huge All My Children fan my whole life. I grew up watching Erica Kane marry and remarry and marry again! I can remember back to the days of Erica and Phil Brent. Yes, that was in the 70's. Then Erica and Tom...Erica and Travis and Adam and of course, Erica and Jack.
Plus, who can forget the love stories! Cliff and Nina, Jesse and Angie, Greg and Jenny, Brooke and Tom, Greenlee and Leo--their love stories probably all did a lot to feed the incurable romantic in me and also give me some crazy ideas about love and romance at the same time.
I was so sad when AMC ended and not long later, One Life to Live followed suit. I was so used to watching my soaps that I really didn't know what to do with myself!
That's why I'm borderline elated that AMC and OLTL are returning today! Check out The Online Network for more info! The shows will premiere on Hulu starting at midnight on Monday, April 29th and will also be available on Hulu+ and iTunes for on-the-go viewing!

I'm a HUGE fan of SMASH and have been patiently waiting for the new season to start! Guess what? The first episode of Smash, Season 2
is available right now to watch totally FREE on iTunes! Whoo hoo! I think I know what I'm going to be doing later. If you haven't seen the show, you really should check it out. This was one of those shows that I DVR'ed last year and didn't think I'd like. Was I ever wrong!

My husband and I have been totally hooked on this show the past two seasons! If you haven't seen it, it's very well written. The series centers around the murder of a teenage girl named Rosie Larsen. There are tons of twists and turns and you won't find out who killed Rosie at the end of the first season(you'll have to wait for season 2!) but the ride is well worth it.
