Today is Giving Tuesday. After you've shopped 'til you dropped, it's a great time to think about giving back and helping out those in need. I just wanted to drop some links here to recommend some of my favorite places that can always use your help.
1 out of 6 children live in households without consistent access to adequate food. That's unacceptable. No Kid Hungry helps meet food needs for children through out the country. There's no reason one child should go hungry in our country. Go here to donate. Every dollar helps.
Be K.I.N.D. To a Student in Malawi: Donate a Desk or Scholarship. The K.I.N.D. (Kids In Need of Desks) Fund provides desks and benches to students in need in Malawi. Without the desks, they have to sit on the floors of their classrooms. The desks make a huge difference to them. For just $27.50, you can pick one student up off the floor. Donate here.
Toys for Tots provides holiday toys for kids in need. Find out where you can drop of your new, unwrapped toy or you can also give a monetary donation.
You've seen the commercials for Save the Children on TV. Many people don't realize that Save the Children also provides for children in the United States. They have programs such as the literacy programs here in West Virginia and other states that help children get a little more ready for school and they also opened their hearts and pockets when our state was affected by massive flooding last year. You can donate here.
