With Thanksgiving coming up in a few days, you might be thinking about special meals with the people you love. All the cooking, cleaning and preparing is worth it when everyone gets together and has fun! Those kinds of meals and memories don't just happen at the holidays though.
Do you have a memory of a special meal with someone you love? Maybe it was the night your husband proposed or a dinner spent with one of your grown children when you realized that they truly appreciated you and all you'd done for them.
Big holiday dinners can be chaotic. While I enjoy those times, I'd much rather sit and chat with two or three people and connect. Last summer, I spent an evening just like that. I've been out of high school for way more years than I'll admit to! A few years after I graduated, I moved FAR away and lost contact with almost everyone I'd gone to high school with. After about 15 years of living away, our family moved back to this area, and I was able to reconnect with some friends on Facebook.
Every few months, three of us would all say "We need to get together for dinner and catch up." Then we could never agree on a time. Suddenly, one day, we realized that one of us was moving away and we didn't have much time. We set a date and we spent the evening laughing, reminiscing and talking about things we hadn't discussed in YEARS. Long after the fajitas, margaritas and chips and salsa were gone, we sat there chatting. We all wondered why we'd waited so long to get together.
It's evenings like those that matter the most and Hallmark’s movie subscription service, Feeln, is bringing us a new show, “Breaking Bread With Brooke Burke” that will make you feel like you're sitting down with old friends. “Breaking Bread With Brooke Burke” is a unique talk show that features Brooke's visits with celebrities where they share memories and moments over a meal. You can watch Episode 1: Florence Henderson online. Yes, it's Carol Brady! That name alone should bring back some memories.
To celebrate the premiere of Breaking Bread With Brooke Burke, you can enter the Tongue Twister Challenge and win some pretty cool prizes. Just make a video of yourself saying "Breaking Bread With Brooke Burke" 5 times. Trust me, it's not that easy!
So go watch the first episode, then go enter the Tongue Twister Challenge! I'd love to see some of you win! Make sure that you tag your video #BBwBBchallenge @BBBreaksBread.
