Get the Halloween decorations put away. It's time to think about Black Friday! At least that's what Amazon wants us to do because they've already set up a Countdown to Black Friday Deals Week page.
On this page, you'll find tons of Lightning Deals and if you're an Amazon Prime member, you'll get early access to some of the deals.
What's a Lightning Deal?
These are items that Amazon puts up, usually at a great discount, but the catch is that you have to act fast because the deal only lasts a short amount of time. If you see something you like, you have to act quickly to ensure you'll get it. If the item sells out, you can request to be put on a wait list. You may still get it and when you're wait-listed, it will tell you how likely you are to get it. I've been able to get a ton of great deals this way.
Early Access for Amazon Prime Members
This year, if you're a member of Amazon Prime, you'll have early access to many of the Lightning Deals. If you're not a member already, don't panic. You can sign up to try Amazon Prime 30-Day Free Trial. The free trial gives you the benefits of Amazon Prime including early access to Lightning Deals, FREE 2-Day shipping(no minimum purchase) on Prime eligible products and more. If you sign up now, you'll be able to get a good chunk of your holiday gifts shipped FREE. It's very easy to cancel if you decide you don't want to keep your Prime membership. Just do it right from within your Amazon account.
If you're a college student or have one in the family, you can get a discounted Amazon Prime membership when you Join Amazon Student FREE Two-Day Shipping for College Students.
If you've already done the trial membership and don't have a student in your family, I totally recommend signing up for Amazon Prime. I know it seems like a lot of money, but figure out how many times you add items to your cart to get to the $35 shipping minimum without Prime. You'll also get access to Amazon Prime Video and Amazon Prime Music. That's really a great value!
