NatureZway recently sent me some samples of their products to try out. Aren't we all at least a little worried about the state of our Earth's environment? I know I am. I would like to leave it a little better off for my children and grandchildren.
NatureZway has a collection of cleaning supplies made from bamboo that create less waste, so it's easier for you to do y our part. Not only that, but they're easy to find. You can pick them up online at Target.com. I received a roll of their Bamboo Perforated Towels and a box of their Bamboo Floor wipes to try out.
According to the information I received, Bamboo has an advantage. It's from the grass family and easily renewable, it's stronger than paper made from trees, it doesn't require fertilizer or pesticides to grow and is self regenerating when cut. In addition, bamboo reduces greenhouse gases, so you can feel good about choosing to use products made from bamboo.
I have to tell you that I wasn't sure what to think. I'd never used a product like this. I use plenty of paper towels, but I'd never heard of bamboo towels. I opened the paper towels and they felt soft but sturdy. I decided to put them to the test.
I had a few pots and pans left over from dinner and thought I'd see just how well these Bamboo Towels held up. I ripped off ONE towel from the roll and could NOT believe it when this towel washed two pans with ease. The last pan I washed was one that I'd roasted a turkey breast in and I didn't expect the towel to hold up. It easily cleaned the pans and probably could have cleaned another 10.
As you can see, the towel has no holes and looks as good as it did when I started washing the pans. This one little bamboo towel held up as well as any dishrag would. Impressive! After you use it, you can either throw the towel away or just rinse it and hang dry to reuse. This one was kind of gunky, so I threw it out, but it would have washed more pans easily...if only I'd had more to wash!
I can see using these Bamboo Perforated Towels in the bathroom as well. I always seem to use a lot of paper towels when I clean the bathroom. These wouldn't take as many and they're extremely durable for cleaning your counters, stovetops, and any other time you need to use a traditional paper towel.
Then I pulled out the Bamboo Floor wipes. These floor wipes are super soft and almost have a cottony-like feel to them. I'm being totally honest when I said I had doubts these would clean my floor. I put it on my sweeper and got busy.
Actually, I'm embarrassed to show what this wipe looked like when I was finished. I had NO idea my floor was so dirty. It definitely did the job and had plenty of life in it when I was finished.
Both the Bamboo Floor Wipes and the Bamboo Perforated Towels get a big thumbs up from me. If you're concerned about the environment and want to create a lot less waste, both these products will help you accomplish that.
Head on over to Target.com to find them.
